On April 15, 2013, we have submitted the complete package of the Application for the Confucius Teachings Charter Schools (the Elementary School) to the SUNY authorizer. Due to a recent incidence initiated by a News Report from the New York Daily News, our entire founding team was suffering from great stress and did not have time to complete the rest of the school applications. However, Dr. Lotus King Weiss will communicate with the Leaders at the National Association of Charter School Authorizers to ask for granting more time for the final submission of the rest of the applications. Meanwhile, more and more people from Manhattan, especially from the Harlem area (CSD7) is coming to join the team and invited us to open the Confucius Teachings Charter School. WE here thank the kind-hearted American general public for your kind support and enthusiasm for the Confucius Teachings and the Chinese Language and Culture. The Shen Yun Performing Arts group is coming to New York to give the annual Shen Yun Show at the Lincon Center Plaze. We highly recommend this show to all of you who are interested in embarking onto the path of return to your homeland culture: the 5000 years of traditional Chinese Culture is a gift from God to all of us and let is claim it!

Confucius Teachings Charter School Planning Committee Meeting and New Members of the Board of Trustee Meeting

Dear Proposed Board Members and New Board Members of the Confucius Teachings Charter School:

The deadline for the final submission of the Confucius Teachings Charter School will be April 15, 2013. I have carried out all necessary community outreach activities as well as the finalization of the Charter School Facilities etc. It is time for us to meet and communicate on what needs to be done next. Please also send me your feedbacks and suggestions on the mission and vision of the proposed charter schools so that we can make these schools a great success.

So I urge all of you to come to the meeting on Saturday, since we need to complete all of the forms for the final board of trustees of these charter schools, so that some of you, if you are serious about doing something great in improving the American public education system, can choose to become an official member of the School Board of Trustees.

I also here announce that the lead applicant. Ms. Xiaoming Xu, for the three charter schools at Flushing, has expressed her concern of not being able to continue on this project and her wish to withdraw from this team. A formal decision will be made regarding her request at this coming meeting. In addition, a new lead applicant will be assigned from our new team. New Board Members are being actively recruited and will be coming to join this meeting.

Support from all ethnic groups and especially from the Falun Dafa practitioners from the Mainland of China have been received in the past several weeks. The feedback on the introduction of Falun Dafa in our upcoming school has been very positive. So far no one has sent any negative feedbacks on this issue. So I will integrate this aspect into the full application. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

A Letter to Falun Dafa Practitioners Community For Public Feedbacks

Our deadline for the submission of the application of the Confucius Teachings Charter Schools here in New York State will be April 15, 2013. Please kindly submit your feedback on whether you would like your children to come to attend our school and whether you would like to see the introduction of Falun Dafa in our school to your children. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. If possible, please also give your reasons for why you would like or not like the cultivation practice of Falun Dafa to be introduced in our schools.

If you or anyone you know who are interested in becoming part of this great education team, please submit your resume and fill up the attached documents. They need to be signed and sent back to me before April 14, 2013. Please note that this project is for building public school in America and does not require any fees from you and your children if you can come to Flushing or Manhattan Chinatown to live and if you are chosen to teach or work in our schools, you will have standard salary and all health benefits.

2. How many people are practicing Falun Dafa in New York?

5. Is Falun Dafa still banned in China?

6. If American children of Chinese immigrants' family practice Falun Dafa in New York, are the family members in China facing great danger?

In the past several weeks, since the submission of our intent letters to the SUNY authorizers, the New York Daily News has intentionally brought up the issue of the applicants to be "Falun Dafa Followers". In response to this publication, the general public has shown major interests in whether the Confucius Teachings Charter School will be offering the students the teachings of Falun Dafa. However, for the past over thirteen years, Falun Dafa has been a major target of persecution by the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin and the general public of America as well as the immigrants from China are still having very limited understandings of Falun Dafa, with many people considering Falun Dafa to be political, religious, or even anti-Science, and some even believed the hate propaganda from Jiang Zemin, and considered Falun Dafa to be "evil cult". In view of this phenomena, it is therefore necessary to build a social forum to thoroughly discuss this topic. The Letter of Intent for the Confucius Teachings Charter School is Accepted on February 26, 2013, by SUNY Authorizer.

The Application Team is now invited to submit full preliminary application on April 15, 2013.

Before the official registration of the Confucius Teachings Charter School Association, which will be the non-profit charter management organization, Dr. Lotus King Weiss will operate through the platform of the Whole Elephant Institute in supporting the entire process of the application of the upcoming six Confucius Teachings Charter School in Queens and in Manhattan.
